Some subjects don’t fit in a single post. These are the ones I’ve split into parts — each readable on its own, but written to be taken in order. Series stay open-ended, so one with two entries today may have four by next year.
Going Digital
A series on moving handwritten habits — notes, journals, the scattered paper record of a working life — onto digital tools, written by someone who still likes writing by hand. Each part takes one practice at a time: what paper genuinely does better, what the switch costs you, and where digital earns its place rather than simply being newer. Less about which app to install than about whether the change is worth making at all. New parts are added as the series continues.
Learning LINQ
LINQ from the ground up, one piece at a time: what it is, how the two syntaxes differ, how it behaves on collections you already have, and what changes once the query goes to a database instead. Practical posts, working code, and the traps that only show up when you hit them.
Mapping the Manosphere
A series on the online ecosystem of male self-improvement, dating advice and grievance that gets filed under a single name. Each part takes one piece of the terrain: what the network actually is, which of its claims survive contact with evidence, and why the pull is stronger than dismissals of it tend to allow. The aim is explanation rather than condemnation, on the principle that an argument you haven’t understood is one you can’t answer. New parts are added as the series continues.
Where I Stand
A series about my own views: what I think, how I got there, and where I’ve changed my mind. Belief and unbelief, the assumptions I was raised with, the ones that didn’t survive scrutiny. Each part sets out a position I actually hold and the reasoning behind it, including the parts I’m least sure about. You don’t have to agree with any of it — the point is to show the working rather than just the conclusion.
